RCS Extranet Troubleshooting

Question: What Web browser is required to access the RCS secure extranet?

Answer: The supported browsers include Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) 8, 9, or 10. See below for information on using Compatibility Mode/View with IE 9 or 10.

Question: When I try to log onto the RCS secure extranet from my computer at home, I am not allowed.  It says that I need permission from an administrator. Can you help me?

Answer: In most cases, this is a result of a conflict of the Juniper software that is downloaded onto your computer. To resolve this error, you can try one of the two following procedures:

1.       Remove the Juniper applications using the following steps:

a.       In Windows, go to Add/Remove Programs.  If you are on Windows 7 or Vista, the setting may be called Programs and Features.  You can find it by clicking the Start button and immediately typing “Remove Program” in the search box.

b.      Uninstall any applications that say “Juniper” in them.

c.       Restart your computer.

d.      Attempt Extranet login.

2.       If procedure 1 does not work, do the following:

a.       Perform steps A and B of procedure 1.

b.      Also uninstall any application called “Java”, “Java Runtime”, Java Virtual Machine.

c.       Restart the computer.

d.      Go to http://www.java.com/en/ and download/install the newest version of the Java Runtime.

e.      Attempt Extranet login.

3.     If the above does not work, you may need to turn on the Combatibility Mode (also called Compatibility View in IE 10).

For IE 9 and earlier, if you look on the browser up at the address line (where you type in http://www. etc.) there is an icon that looks like a torn piece of paper. Click it to turn on compatibility mode.

For IE 10, it's a hidden feature found in the Tools menu. If the Tools menu is not showing, press the Alt button on your keyboard (next to the spacebar usually). Then select Tools - Compatibility View.
