			Concert Band The concert band is the intermediate level band class which continues to focus on music basics and fundamentals of playing. The students are required to participate in the RHS Spirit Band, ISSMA Organizational Contest, and numerous concerts and parades throughout the school year. They typically play Group 3 level music from the concert band repertoire. They are under the direction of Mr. Nathan Rigsby.
			Wind Ensemble The Wind Ensemble is Richmond High School's advanced band class. This ensemble continues to focus on music basics and fundamentals of playing. The students are required to participate in the RHS Spirit Band, ISSMA Organizational Contest, and numerous concerts and parades throughout the school year. They typically play Group 1 level music from the concert band repertoire. They are under the direction of Mr. Terry Bettner.
			Marching Band Richmond Red Devils 2008 Indiana State Fair Runner-Up Champions - Wednesday, August 6 was a great day for the Richmond Red Devil Marching Band. The band clad in brand new uniforms and the Devilettes in stunning costumes took the track in prelims performance at 12:26PM on Wednesday, August 6. After the awards were announced Richmond took 1st place Percussion Caption, 2nd place Color Guard Caption (by a mere 1 point from 1st) and 1st place Visual Caption. It was then learned that Richmond was Preliminary Champions above 45 other bands. The excitement continued during the Finals Performance that evening and Richmond was ultimately announced 2008 Indiana State Fair Runner-Up Champions. Continually placing in the top 3 in the State of Indiana is a tremendous accomplishment and to bring positive pride to not only Richmond High School but the city of Richmond is what the Marching Red Devils strive to accomplish! This marks the 49th year that Richmond has competed at the Indiana State Fair. View the performance (video requires broadband connection speed)
			Spirit Band The RHS Spirit Bands provide music and an exciting atmosphere for all Boys home basketball games. We typically rehearse on Fridays before games and any other time during the week if needed. The Devilettes provide an extremely elaborate pre-game performance with an American Flag spanning the distance of the gymnasium floor. Half-time shows will also involve both the band and Devilettes in many different styles of performance.
			Percussion The Red Devil Drumline has been a consistently strong element for the marching band for the past 10 years. They spend countless hours before, during and after school honing their skills to be recognized as one of the top percussion line contenders in the State Fair Band Day competition. They have earned the prestigious percussion caption at State Fair 5 times including 2001, 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2009. They are under the direction of Mr. Terry Bettner and Mr. Nathan Rigsby.
