Mrs. Hoogenboom

Hello! My name is Hanna Hoogenboom and I am the art teacher at Charles Elementary. This is my fourth year at Charles, and my eighth year with Richmond Community Schools. I love teaching art and watching the students be creative in class. I see each class once a week for 40 minutes. My favorite art processes are painting and ceramics. I try to expose the children to many different art mediums and famous artists throughout the school year, so they can decide what they enjoy the most. We are off to a great start in the art room this year. We are begining the year with several weaving and fiber art projects. You can find many examples of our efforts on the walls here at Charles. And soon I will post photos on this website!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at:

I am at Charles on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Don't throw that away! You may have a few extra items lying around your house that we could use here in the Charles Art Room. If you have things like: empty butter or cool whip containers, empty 2 liter pop bottles, cardboard tubes (ex: paper towel, TP, or gift wrapping tubes) round lids for tracing circles, or any old newspapers and magazines.... Please don't throw them away! We can recycle them into art projects! Send them to school with your child to donate to the art room. Thanks!
