Programs & Services

Starr Elementary is the crown jewel in the historic Starr district. Our academic program is focused on maximizing student achievement for all children.

Students thrive in classrooms that enhance learning using balanced literacy strategies and hands-on Math and Science instruction. Data drives instruction at Starr using the 8 Steps process. Success periods use precise strategies to help students master standards. Differentiated instruction is the norm for students in every classroom.

The Starr Elementary PTO supports student achievement and provides our parents an opportunity to get to know other parents and to participate in school activities.

Community partnerships enrich the educational opportunities for students. Starr is a learning community where “We prepare students for their future, not our past.”

Starr Elementary provides continuous learning: intellectually, socially, physically, creatively, and emotionally with family and community involvement.
