Cornerstone II
Service Learning ~
Service-Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen community relationships.
5th Graders stay at Hibberd to work with our LifeSkills students downstairs for their service learning project!
6th grade students work with Cope Environmental Center to test water and remove invasive species. They also help collect and organize bottle caps so COPE can reuse them for the siding on their new building or make benches!
7th and 8th graders do their service learning at the Wayne County Historical Museum. They help with cleaning/dusting inside the buildings, landscraping, and organizing/setup for Heritage Festival.
